Notification & Information Certification

Pursuant to Iowa Code, Section 174.9, the moneys paid as state aid to Fair must be used exclusively for capital expenditures relating to the acquisition of land for fairgrounds and improvements on the fairgrounds such as the construction of new facilities and the renovation of existing facilities.
No part of the amount of state aid can be used for any of the following: • Entertainment, including but not limited to speed events. • To secure games or amusements. • Equipment such as mowers, vehicles, gates & pens. • Supplies, rentals, payroll, inventory, fees, and typical operating expenses. • Routine buildings and grounds maintenance. This includes but is not limited to painting, driveway & grounds repairs and upkeep and routine building repairs.
State funds will not be awarded to any Fair if: the Fair provides inaccurate information on this form; the Fair does not meet the definitions of Section 174.1 of the Iowa Code; the Fair falsely represents the use of state funds; the Fair does not meet the criteria of Section 174.9 of the Iowa Code pertaining to use of state funds.
